"A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive."
-Albert Einstein(1954)
WOW! I think this speaks for itself. I have nothing more to add.

Paolo Pavan
In an attempt to find some good legal music downloads, I recently discovered Jamendo - http://www.jamendo.com/en/ . Jamendo is a community of free, legal and unlimited music published under Creative Commons licenses. Basically, artist make their music available for the world to download, in exchage...they get their music "out there".
One of the first artist that i found there is Paolo Pavan. Hailing from Rome, Paolo is an jazz pianist whose recent album, Inside, includes songs played by a Jazz quintet: Paolo Pavan piano, David Marinacci tenor saxophone, Angelo Olivieri trumpet, Fabrizio Boccardelli drums and Marco Roccuzzo on the doublebass.
I certainly don't claim to be a jazz connoisseur, but this is simply jazz that I can digg. Streaming on the music player is the first track from Inside, simply titled "Opposites". You can download the entire album free of charge on Jamendo. I hope that all of you enjoy!

Welcome to One Man Discovery
Well...Here goes nothing! This is, in fact, my first attempt at blogging. So...what's this blog about? Well...it's about discovery. Not discovery Lewis & Clark or Christopher Columbus style, but discovery of new things (to some at least) in everyday life. It could be music, art, books, photography, food...anything, really. It may include spiritual discoveries for myself or others, or it could be things in life with new meaning. This is (at least right now) my intention for the direction of this blog. I do hope that you enjoy my attempt to share with the world that which I discover to be interesting or inspiring.
